On 9th November, St. Gonzaga Gonza Kamuli Catholic Parish gathered in thanksgiving to celebrate six years of faith, unity, and growth. Divine Mercy Choir was blessed to participate in this celebration, offering music that uplifted the celebration and glorified God, as we animated the 7:00 AM Mass.
This anniversary marked a moment to remember our journey since the parish was established on 10th November 2019, opened up by the then Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, and to renew our commitment to building a strong, vibrant Christian community.
Message from Rev. Fr. Paul Ssekayala, Parish Priest
During the celebration, Rev. Fr. Paul Ssekayala delivered a touching reflection on the meaning of the day. His message read:
” Fellow Christians, on the 10th November 2019, we received a gift of St. Gonzaga Gonza Parish, Kamuli. The administration of our new parish was entrusted to the family of St. Charles Lwanga, the martyrs and Saint Gonzaga Gonza, the martyr. We are very grateful to God who has enabled us to walk together as a family in communion, participation, and mission. We thank the priests and all the Christians of St. Gonzaga for their evangelization, sacrifice, and support.
We are also indebted to the Christians who have passed on. May God have mercy on those who have gone, and may He bless us with unity and prosperity.
The struggle of constructing our church, both spiritually and physically, continues. Kindly be united and more motivated until we make our parish an attractive and inspiring place of pilgrimage for St. Gonzaga Gonza, who died at Lubaano.“
His words reminded us of the grace we have witnessed, the challenges we continue to overcome, and the bright future God is guiding us toward.
Divine Mercy Choir’s Role in the Celebration
As Divine Mercy Choir, we were honored by animating liturgy with music and praise throughout the celebration. Each hymn, psalm, and response was offered as a gift to God and a service to our parish family.

Honoring Our Parish Journey
The sixth anniversary celebration highlighted the steady growth our parish has experienced, spiritually, pastorally, and structurally. While development continues, the unity and generosity of parishioners remain the foundation of every achievement.
We remember with love and gratitude all Christians who supported our parish but have since gone to their eternal rest. May God grant them peace and reward their faith.
