Divine Mercy Choir Launches Fundraising Campaign for New Coaster

April 7th, 2024, marked a doubly significant milestone for the Divine Mercy Choir. As we celebrated our Silver Jubilee, 25 glorious years of ministry, we also launched an ambitious fundraising campaign with a special Music Choral Concert at St. Gonzaga Gonza Kamuli Parish, Ssikisiima Hall. The goal? To raise 140 million Ugandan shillings for a choir coaster that will carry our ministry into the next 25 years.

A Celebration That Launched a Dream

At 1pm on that memorable Sunday, our community gathered for more than just a concert. It was a celebration of faith, music, and vision. As voices harmonized in praise and gratitude for 25 years of service, we also cast our eyes forward, toward expanded ministry, greater reach, and new horizons. The Music Choral Concert served as both a thanksgiving for the journey behind us and a launching pad for the journey ahead. Every note sung, every song performed, carried with it the hope of what’s to come.

Why a Coaster for Divine Mercy Choir?

For a quarter of a century, the Divine Mercy Choir has blessed our parish and beyond with the gift of sacred music. As our reputation has grown, so have invitations to minister at regional events, sister parishes, conferences, and celebrations across Uganda. However, coordinating transportation for our growing choir has become increasingly challenging. Currently, members travel separately in multiple vehicles, which creates logistical complications and limits our ability to accept distant invitations. It also increases individual costs for members and prevents us from traveling as the united family we are.

A dedicated coaster worth 140 million shillings will enable us to minister across Uganda without transportation barriers while keeping our choir family together during travels. It will reduce the financial burden on individual members and allow safe and efficient equipment transport. Most importantly, it will open doors to new ministry opportunities and provide reliable group travel for years to come, strengthening our community bonds through shared journeys.

The 140 Million Shilling Goal

The target of 140 million shillings represents a significant investment in our ministry’s future. It’s a substantial amount, but we believe that with God’s grace and the generosity of those who have been touched by our music over these 25 years, this dream is achievable. This coaster will be more than transportation, it will be a mobile sanctuary carrying voices of praise, a vessel of ministry reaching communities far and wide, and a testament to what faith and community support can accomplish together. It’s an investment in the next generation of worshipers and a symbol of our commitment to spreading divine mercy through song.

The April 7th Concert: First Steps Toward the Goal

The Music Choral Concert at Ssikisiima Hall was the official launch of this campaign. Those who attended didn’t just enjoy beautiful music, they became founding partners in this vision. The event combined inspiring choral performances with a celebration of 25 years of faithful service and a clear presentation of our coaster needs. It was an opportunity for everyone present to contribute to this historic cause and to witness the beginning of something transformative for our ministry.

How You Can Be Part of This Journey

Whether you attended the launch concert or not, there’s still time to contribute to this transformative project. We need the support of everyone who has ever been blessed by our ministry. You can make a one-time donation of any amount or commit to monthly pledges to spread your contribution over time. Corporate and family sponsorships with recognition are also available, and we welcome in-kind support and services from those who can offer them. Throughout the campaign, we’ll be organizing various fundraising events that you can participate in or support.

Every shilling counts toward our goal. Every contribution, brings us closer to the 140 million target and helps write the next chapter of Divine Mercy Choir’s story. Your generosity, no matter the size, is a vote of confidence in our ministry and an investment in the spiritual life of communities we’ll reach.

A Vision for Tomorrow

Imagine our choir traveling together to bless communities across Uganda. Picture us arriving united at diocesan events, regional festivals, and distant parishes, ready to share the transformative power of sacred music. Envision young members experiencing ministry trips that shape their faith journey, and veteran members comfortably traveling to share their gifts. This coaster will enable ministry to rural and remote parishes that rarely have access to such musical excellence, and it will facilitate our participation in national Catholic events and collaborations with other choirs across the country.

The impact extends beyond performances. We’ll be able to organize educational trips for our younger members, respond quickly when communities need the comfort of worship music during difficult times, and maintain regular outreach beyond our parish boundaries. Each journey will be an opportunity to carry the message of divine mercy to those who need it most.

Thank You for 25 Years, Here’s to 25 More

As we celebrated our Silver Jubilee on April 7th, 2024, at St. Gonzaga Gonza Kamuli Parish, we were reminded that Divine Mercy Choir exists because of faithful supporters like you. Your presence at our masses, your encouragement through the years, and your partnership in ministry have sustained us through every season. Now, we invite you to invest in our future. Help us acquire the coaster that will carry Divine Mercy Choir’s ministry forward for decades to come. Be part of the legacy that future generations will inherit and tell stories about.

This is more than a fundraising campaign, it’s an invitation to participate in something sacred. It’s a chance to ensure that the voices that have blessed you can continue to bless others near and far. Together, we can reach the 140 million shilling goal. Together, we can ensure that the Divine Mercy Choir continues to answer God’s call to spread His mercy through music, across Kamuli, across Uganda, and wherever we’re called to minister.
